Where Should You Buy “Disney Infinity”?

So “Disney Infinity” is just a couple of days away from its August 18th release and you want to know where the best place to order it is. Retailers will often get competitive in order to earn your business. This may mean they offer exclusive giveaways, downloadable content and sales prices.

Here is an all-in-one guide to help you figure out which retailer will give you the most bang for your buck.

f_infinitychtr0317_02After doing a pretty thorough search for the best deals on the “Disney Infinity” starter pack, the first thing I noticed is that every retailer is selling it for $74.99. To really get the most out of your purchase, you will need to look at what’s included in order to get the best deal.

The nice thing about Amazon is that they offer a preorder guarantee. If the price should become lower before the product ships, they will honor the lowest price. That being said, since “Disney Infinity” is releasing on a Sunday rather than your normal Tuesday video game release, you will have to wait a few days before you actually get the game. As an Amazon Prime member, I put the item in my cart and with the free 2 day shipping, my delivery estimate was on Wednesday.

For those who can’t wait to get their hands on this game, Amazon may not be your best bet. If you do have patience however, they are offering some pretty lucrative bonuses.

Here’s what you’ll get should you order the starter kit on Amazon:

  • Video Game and INFINITY Base.
  • INFINITY Play Sets: Monsters University, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Incredibles AND 3 INFINITY Characters: Mr. Incredible, Jack Sparrow, and Sulley.
  • INFINITY Power Disc.
  • Unique web codes to unlock content online and on your mobile device.
  • Bonus: Preorder a starter pack now and receive a free figure and power disc pack ($5.99 value).

Best Buy

Best Buy allows for multiple options with respect to how you get your copy of the game. You can either get itshipped directly to your door from BestBuy.com, buy it online and pick it up at a local store or simply walk in on Sunday and get it.

Currently, Best Buy is offering customers 1 free character when you preorder it on their website.

From the Best Buy website:

Right now, when you preorder Disney Infinity, you can receive a free collectable character that can

gaming-disney-infinity-pirates-3be imported into the game.

Note: During checkout, you must choose the same delivery option for both items.

Follow these steps:

  1. Select your version of Disney Infinity.
  2. Select a character.
  3. Click the Add to Cart button at the bottom of the page.

Each character costs about $13 at most retail outlets so a free one just for ordering in advance is not a bad deal!

Toys R Us

Toys R Us is keep up with the theme of free character and power disc but have some of their own incentives as well.

First off, if you order online from the Toys R Us website, you qualify for free shipping when ordering “Disney Infinity” products. Another reason to order from TRU, they are actually offering a coupon! The coupon allowed you to purchase 1 “Disney Infinity” item and receive 20% off.

20% off the $74.99 starter pack is actually a great deal and I may just be taking advantage of this deal when I finish writing this article.

Typically, I’m not a huge fan of GameStop. They are one of the few companies that tend to never have a good deal going on.

That being said, it looks like they showed up to the party for Sunday’s launch. When you preorder “Disney Infinity” at GameStop, you will receive a free character and power disc to accompany your purchase. Also, the first 30 customers to buy the game will receive a free “Disney Infinity” mini book. Those who want to buy the startegy guide will also save $10 when you buy it with the game.

Not too shabby GameStop!

In addition to the free character, power disc and free shipping from Walmart.com, you will also receive a $4.99 credit to their video streaming service, VUDU. This will allow for a rental of most HD movies and can be streamed through most gaming consoles or online enabled Blu Ray players and TVs.

Walmart also has a package that includes all available characters for $130. For that price you will receive the following:

  • Mike Wozowski
  • Mrs. Incredible
  • Captain Barbossa
  • Davy Jones
  • Syndrome
  • Dash
  • Violet
  • Francesco
  • Mater
  • Randy

That will save you about $10 so if you’re looking to get every figure available, that may work out to your favor.

Target, one of my favorite stores, doesn’t seem to be doing anything too special for the launch of “Disney Infinity”. They will be including one of the free characters along with the power disc so you won’t be missing out on that but if you’re with proximity of some of the other retailers listed above, you may want to take advantage of their deals.

UPDATE: Just a quick note, Target stores currently have the “Cars” and “The Lone Ranger” 2-packs on sale for $17.49 and Walmart has the Heroes and Villians 3-pack for $14.96. Both great deals if you’re looking to beef up your character collection.
