Walt Disney World to Offer Full-Time Positions to 427 Part-Time Employees

In an effort to be more proactive, employees at Walt Disney World who have worked more than 1,500 hours over the past year will be offered full-time positions in order to qualify for healthcare benefits that comply with the ACA.

Employees who work more than 30 hours a week at a company that employs 50 or more people are due certain healthcare benefits under the new law. Many companies have rolled back employee schedules to under 30 hours a week in order to avoid paying more in benefits and keep costs lower.

It’s refreshing to see Disney go against the grain and help their employees qualify for healthcare coverage.
