Disney Accelerator

If you were to run a tech startup, who better to mentor you than the minds behind Disney’s Imagineering, Pixar, Lucasfilms and Marvel?

Disney Accelerator is a new program that was created to help develop small tech companies by offering 10 of them $120,000 in capital to help support and develop their ideas more efficiently.

The program will be based in Los Angeles but will serve to aid startups in various cities around the country.

Disney has always been an innovator whether it was syncing early animations to sound or developing new technology for their parks.

Walt Disney had a dream, and the entrepreneurial will to make that dream come true. Combining creativity and innovation, he built a company that is forever inventing new ways to tell great stories. From the Multiplane camera and the first feature-length animated film, to Audio-Animatronics and computer-generated animation, Disney has always been at the forefront of technology.

Kevin Mayer, executive VP of corporate strategy and business development, said:

“Disney has always been defined by innovation, leveraging the technology required to build the future of entertainment. Disney Accelerator offers a unique collaboration between some of the best creative minds in the entertainment industry and the modern-day visionaries who are starting businesses on the strength of exciting new ideas.

This is a huge step not only for Disney but for aspiring tech entrepreneurs who are looking to make the world a better place.

Potential candidates can register at the Disney Accelorator website by April 16th to be considered for the program.
