Inside the “Aladdin” Event at the Walt Disney Studio Lot

Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending a screening of Aladdin on the Walt Disney Studio lot in anticipation of the upcoming Digital HD and Blu Ray release.
Guests were treated to special themed events including games, dance lessons, stories and more.

Following the events, we made our way to the main theater where Ron Clements (Producer/Director of Aladdin) and Scott Weinger (voice of Aladdin and star of Full House) greeted the audience and talked about their experience working on the 1992 film.

Aladdin always held a special place in my heart. Growing up in a time where all of the girls I knew wanted to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Aladdin produced a strong male protagonist that pulled me into the world of Disney…an interest that has stayed with me to this day and is the reason Disney Geekery exists at all.
Seeing the film again brought me back to that time in the early 90s that proved Disney’s animated feature films could appeal to all audience.
With its gorgeous animation, catchy music (Alan Menken) and comedy that works across generations, Aladdin has proved that it can stand the test of time whether you’re a Disney fan that watched it on the clam shell VHS, DVD and now Digital HD and Blu Ray versions.

Aladdin is available as an HD Digital download tomorrow and will be on the shelves of your favorite retailers on Blu Ray on October 13th. This will be the first time the film is available in HD and will be full of awesome bonus features including unused takes from Genie who was voiced by comedy legend Robin Williams.
Also, for the younger fans, check out the Aladdin Little Golden Book, available now.
